I was using Firefox when it suddenly stopped responding to new tabs. I got an error message saying "Windows cannot find ‘C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe’.
In the Mozilla message boards this is a problem allways related to Avast Cleanup, but I’m not clear on what the problem/cure is. Firefox holds my passwords and links, if it can’t be recovered I’m really screwed.
One answer give is: So, been struggling with the same error while trying to open Microsoft Word and all related files. I did the fix you suggested, Cor-el, and it worked. Turns out the problem is Avast Cleanup rewriting the value in a program’s debugging registry. Simply deleting the Avast value fixes the issue.
Is anyone familiar with this problem and what is the cure
