Hello, I have got a problem after avast uninstall.
I used a free version of avast. When trial ended I decided to delete it (if you are interested I can describe you why I don’t like it)
I couldn’t delete it using control panel. So I used a uninstall tool from official site. I switched to the safe mode and uninstalled the software. Then I rebooted my laptop. Here problems appeared.
System tried to launch, but couldn’t. Messages about error appeared, then the system rebooted and the same again and again. I couldn’t even run recovery mode. So, I run it using connected USB device. However, recovery or issues fixing modes didn’t bring me any positive results. Error always appeared. Moreover, I figured out that the system thought that I had two installed OSes: Windows 10 on drive c and “avast antivirus clear uninstall” (yes it is the name) on disk x (which I had never created and I even had not had disk x before).
Using a command line I figured out that OS on disk x is set up as the main one, and I can’t (or don’t know) how to switch to disk c and remove disk x.
Is there a way to fix my problem?
Thanks
No, you don’t have two OS’s installed.
The “avast antivirus clear uninstall” is just a second boot option which tells Windows to boot in safe-mode and run avastclear.
Can you boot in safe mode ?
No, I can’t.
I don’t have boot options. After BIOS loading I get error message.
What is the exact error message ?

Additional information about this problem and possible ways to resolve it you can find at http://www. windows.com/stopcode
If you are going to ask an IT support for a help please provide them following data:
Stop code: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
Eh, I only see some sort of document and not the crash message in that image.
At this point I can only advise you to perform a in-place-repair of Windows.

Sorry, a wrong link. Here is the correct one.
The thing is I can’t even reset my windows to basic settings.
I assume that when I try to do reset windows, it goes to this new disk x and can’t perform resetting operation.
Still no crash/error code.
Perform a in-place-repair of Windows and see if that is solving things.
I’m not sure what do you mean in “in-place-repair”, but I tried several options: looking for a configuration errors, restore to initial configuration. Both of these options suggested me to select between two boot drives: “Windows 10” and “avast antivirus clear uninstall” which I mentioned before, that is why I thought there are maybe some kind of two OSes installed, and by the way I found that disk x contains a lot of system folders and files (x:\Windows for example), also there were made a lot of changes in the register. Many pathes were changed from C:<some_path> to X:<some_path>
Yep, it helped a little. Now I can run at least in a safe mode. However, it is impossible to run in usual mode. I don’t have restore points. Moreover, I looked for avast files, and some of them are still exist. For example, there are a few files which names contain ‘avast’ in C:\Windows folder. I think that they maybe the reason of incorrect windows work. What do you think?
Also, I found that there are still a few avast records in registery
Since you can get into safe mode, try running the Avast removal tool in Safe mode:
https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility
I tried to do it, but there are still avast files.
Windows restore is also unavailable.
Is it possible to remove avast files manually? Uninstall tool didn’t remove them.
Actually, the question is if it saves to remove files from the list ( screenshot is attached) manually?
Are there any chances that someone will answer me in this thread?
Ofcourse it is possible to remove them manually.
But removing files/folders might not be enough.
Registry entries also need to be removed.
I no it is possible. I would like to know if it is safety
Yes it is.
Back up the registry before you make any changes.
I could clean up the registry, and deleted most of the files. However, couldn’t delete files from c:\windows\WinSxS folder. And, actually these changes didn’t helped. Os still can’t start in usual mode. I can’t restore it using corresponds options in windows. I even can’t reset it to factory settings
