Windows Defender

Hey, Due to the recent fails of Microsoft Security Essentials I have now switched back to avast free, Well I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, but then I noticed in my Windows 7 Action Center says this

http://d.pr/i/US7s

Now When i used to use MSE, Windows defender was disabled automaticly, I thought avast would do the same, am i not correct? Thanks(:

Avast AV/Anti theft on my phone + On my laptop = AWESOMENESS

No, Avast does not automatically disable Windows Defender.

Indeed, some people choose to run Defender along with Avast. [There is a big debate about this, not because of the potential for conflicts, but because many contend that Defender offers minimal, if any, protection above that which is already included in avast.]

Many people choose to run MalwareBytes AntiMalware, Paid version (in real time), along with Avast; while others choose to run SuperAntiSpyware, Paid (realtime) with Avast.

finally, some people are content with avast alone, running no additional anti-spyware program.

So you see, running an anti-spyware program with avast is purely a matter of user choice. Nothing is automatically disabled by avast.

Thanks, Just havnt used avast in a few years but back after the AV-TEST ratings :stuck_out_tongue:
