Hi there
I just installed Avast Free Antivirus because I was told that this would be a lot safer than just using windows defender :slight_smile: So in the FAQ I read that other Antivirus applications should be deaactivated. So I guess this is also valid for Windowns defender, correct?

So I guess I deactivate everything in the windows defender menu?

Windows should disable Defender during the installation of Avast.

ok, this did not happend im my case

Try restarting the the computer again, sometimes a couple of reboots are required.

If that doesn’t work then open Defender, on the left side panel choose “Virus & Threat Protection”, then on the right choose “Manage Providers”.

But Defender should automatically deactivate itself when it sees Avast AV (or other 3rd party AV) installed.
