hello!
i’m new to the forum and this whole virus solving thing… so pleeease bear with me (i know you hear this alot - sorry).
anyway, the problem:
when i start windows or avast i get this message:
“Windows Explorer (in second case: Virus Checker) has encountered a problem and needs to close.”
i can leave the window open and everything functions normally, if i send an error report both close and restart.
in both cases in the error details i get a modname to be sproxy.dll. i ran virus total scan online and a couple of programs identified it as malware or suspicious (panda, symantec, antivir, dr.web…)
how can i resolve this issue?
thank you all in advance!
kat
???
Can you submit the file to JOTTI or VirusTotal and let us know the result.
Can you expand the error message and copy&past the content of the error message here?

error report comin up…
Difficult to say but it does not seem to be infected.
It’s crashing avast for other reason, not because it’s infected. At least it seems so.

Do you have any idea what sproxy.dll belongs to? (it’s not part of avast…).
What folder does it reside in?
Can you try e.g. renaming it?
Cheers
