when i open any folder have many exe’s present like a game folder the windows explorer takes many seconds “6 seconds average” to load and every time i open such kind of folders i got the same slow loading
i think avast causes that kind of windows explorer hanging this problem suddenly disappear when i uncheck “scan when executing”
such problem wasn’t in the 1st versions of avast 5.0 become obvious in later versions of avast 5 and avast 6
ans it was the main reason why i switched to avira
any solution to this problem without having to uncheck the "scan program when executing " in expert settings in the realtime shield ?
thanks in advance
do you have the latest avast version?
if so, please execute process monitor, start collecting data, then go that folder which takes ~6sec, then stop logging. Save the report (use “All events”), and send me compressed report file to my email. Thanks.
yes it happened with all avast versions 6
even with the latest avast 6.0.1091
but what mean by process monitor do u mean process monitor program or it’s a hidden function inside avast , pleas explain more
What does this have to do with her issues at hand? That is for performing a scan from witin Windows Explorer. That is not her issue. Setting it to high just increases the priority of the scan.
His/her doesn’t matter. Getting your problem solved does. Please try my suggestions first. When ever your having any sort of software issues its always best to uninstall and reinstall then go from there.
thanks so much for ur trying to help me
this forum really has many nice guys here
and i really appreciate all ur efforts
i did tried to do a clean install on a fresh xp sp3 and i experienced the same issue
hanging for many seconds when trying to open a folder has some exe file’s
and i have to say that some of the exe’s are about 39 mb size
but strange i don’t experience such lag with the earlier version of avast 5 also not happen with avira or avg
and i really like avast and wanna settle on it
Avast has a behavior shield. Try adding these files, whatever they are to the exclusions. You can add them to the file exclusions and behavior shield exclusions. Open up Avast and click on Real-Time Shields. Within there you will find the exclusions area. What exactly are these files anyways and how much ram do you have?
