windows explorer open after installing avast!

After installing avast! 4.8 Windows open Windows Explorer at start.
Do you know what happened? and how to resolve?

avast has no need to open windows explorer and doesn’t. Whilst I believe this is entirely co-incidental, the normal cause is a file that is meant to run on startup is missing and that normally opens explorer in the folder where the file is normally located.

So what folder is opened when explorer opens ?

Check the msconfig, startup tab for files that run at startup and check the file is present.

This analysis tool also shows what is running and may report that some file/s is/are missing.
