Hi, when I turn off network discovery and file and printer sharing on Advanced sharing settings, Windows Firewall turns back on? I tried used msconfig and disabled Windows firewall from there but the sharing settings won’t stay?

Why would you turn it off…?? (Not needed.)
I’m using a different firewall.
Which one…??
Avast Internet Security.
Well, i thought so.
As said, no need to disable the W7 FW with AIS…!!!
I want to disable network discovery and file and printer sharing.
Aren’t the advanced sharing settings part of the windows firewall? that would be why the firewall turns on is if you are accessing it.
The avast firewall is designed to work with the windows one but you can disable windows firewall if you wish to save a few resources. If you want to properly disable the windows firewall then you should disable it from services and it wont start again.
Well, your initial post wasn’t really that clear…
Thanks.
Your welcome
??? Anyway, you’re welcome…! ;D
