Windows Freeze whit Emule + Avast 4.7

Hi there, i download Avast few days ago, before that i used another antivirus such PCCILLING. After download i get Avast Update and configured, than after 1 hour or more with Emule running, the system freeze. Mouse freeze, keyboard freeze, nothing to do but to push the reset button.
With PCCILLING i never had such problem.
I run a complete scan of the system but no virus was found, i try to suspend the P2P provider and the LAN Provider, it appear to stand longer than 1 hours, some times a day long but after that no matter what i do the windows Freeze.
I got every driver updated and the windows it self is update i have no software like firewall or else (i use windows firewall).

System:
p4 3Ghz
2Gb ram
Abit MOBO
ATI svga
Windows XP Pro SP2 updated

Please help.

Sounds like a hardware problem to me… did you check the cooling of the computer (CPU, memories, graphic adapter…)?

If it’s a cooler problem how is that if i running PCCILLING instead of AVAST the problem do not present it self ?
However i check the CPU temperature, vga, etc. All appear to run under normal parameter, my case is always open for better ventilation. Another point is that the problem seam to append only when Emule is running and it happens also when the PC is doing nothing but stay on with EMULE running.

I’m getting mad with that problem, anyone have a guess ?!?

Thanks.

Without knowing if pccillin offered the same level of protection for P2P programs (eMule, etc.) it may not be scanning the content as it is being downloaded only on completion and that wouldn’t have the same activity.

Have you tried another P2P program to see if this happens with that one.

Keeping a case open isn’t the best option as the air flow through the case can be destroyed so it doesn’t draw in cooler air through the system and out the rear of the system drawing with it the heat from the CPU and graphics card.

Did you try to use them at the same time?
Are you sure PCCillin was correctly uninstalled before installing avast?

Do you use a firewall? Which one?

No troubles here with XP+avast+emule ::slight_smile: ???
