After the latest Avast update Windows Hello biometric facial recognition has stopped working.
When I disable shields this works again.
I have tried looking in the webcam control to see if I can allow this specific module to use the camera but I can’t find the correct application to allow.
I could disable Webcam Protection in Avast but this should just work.
Any advice welcome

Thank you. I’m having the same problem, and am unable to sign in via face recognition on a Surface 4 Laptop, running Windows 11. Please let me know when a fix is available.
Thanks for this information, look forward to a speedy resolution to this issue.
