Hmmm. They put UAC there to annoy users, yep sounds like Microsoft.
Seriously The only thing keeping windows afloat is its huge Market Share and thanks to Vista that has been slowly shrinking, the June cutoff of XP on all but ultra low cost PCs should help further it along.
Now imagine if apple would make a serious push into the enterprise they could really do some damage right about now.
It worked, they annoyed the users, some so much that they disabled it, so the supposed protection is of no use to them. That is a design flaw when the function is such a pig that many disable it.
However, if the comment id to be believe there doesn’t seem to have been much consideration of the user in its design.
People have no clue what they want. I love Vista and if Windows 7 is really gonna be so much better version of Vista i’m probably gonna buy it. Vista Home Premium 64bit already rox to the max!
Linux is just a toy for me. Except Slax, PING and Linux firmware in my wireless router. Thats where Linux really shines.
I would have to agree with RejZor I had no problems with vista when I had it A few problems here and there but a few tweaks took car of that as for other operating systems? I use Ubuntu for various other things And being a graphic designer by trade I also Use Mac but overall I like windows the most and believe if they can correct the mistakes theyve made with Vista they might be able to pull themselves out of the “hole” and if not If I could find a way to do everything I do on a windows machine and keep Communication lines open (IM, Email but mainly IM) I wouldnt see a problem with switching to Ubuntu or even Mac (If theyed lower the price!) as my primary OS
I also like Vista. I have dual boot XP Pro & Vista Business on my desktop, and use Vista 95% of the time and no problems with it. Then Vista Home Premium on a notebook also no problems with it. Both are a clean install.
Vista like all new systems requires a learning curve.
Since I’m currently away from home and depend on my laptop which came with Vista,
I’m beginning to like it more and more.
WinPatrol asks for permission so does your firewall so why not UAC ???
It’s something you get used to and it helps to keep you alert as to what you download
and what you give access to on your system. Just my 2cents.
