Has anyone any idea why the March 2015 tool was released today (through Windows update) as an optional update three days ahead of patch Tuesday? I’ve run it with no apparent problems.
Yeah I got it too. Probably Microsoft was still preparing the March 2105 tool during the patch Tuesday and it was ready today.
Odd that it should be an optional update … isn’t it normally classified as ‘important’?
Unless this is something related to a new (yet urgent) vulnerability which wasn’t covered in the one released on the last, February patch Tuesday update and shouldn’t wait on the next regular update.
There have been a few vulnerabilities in the news recently, any of which could result in an out of cycle update.
Yes I also thought that was odd however it’s not the first time I had that happen over the years.
