Windows security alert after avast update

I’ve just updated Avast and now the Windows Security Centre keeps telling me that Avast Internet Security reports that it’s switched off. Avast says all is well. Any ideas?

Repair avast!:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → avast!
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

Have you rebooted your system since the avast! program updated ???
