Windows Security Centre Problem

So I did some updates on my computer, and when it restarted this popped up. I have tried to repair the device, and it didn’t work, and I tried to turn it on. Nothing worked. I need help to turn my Anti-Virus back on.

I am running Windows Vista Business, Version 6.

EDIT: I am running the Free Version.

Have you tried rebooting again?

Looks like the security center bug in windows that has been there for many years.

Either reset the security center or perform a clean install of avast.

Do I need to uninstall the current version I have right now, come back, and then install cleanly?

How about having OP (if he will consider) turn off (disable) Windows Defender ?
I know Defender is supposed to be OK with Avast but think all people agree it is a poorly managed A/V and perhaps better solution here.
If so, go into Defender and in Option/Admin…uncheck the option to use this program…something like that…will disable.
You can check this by going back into Control Panel and launching Defender and Windows says it is off.
Hopefully, the security center will be as well.

Anyway, just a different suggestion to the problem…perhaps.

Windows Defender should NOT be running alongside avast! and should be disabled.

It’s detection is pretty much useless and it has low level drivers which could crash with avast!
