Windows Vista 32bit won't start, aswVmm.sys Problem

So I am having a problem starting up Windows Vista 32bit computer because of the aswVmm.sys being corrupted or missing. I’ve read several threads on how to deal with this, and I did half of essexboy’s method of FRST and posted the frst.txt (see below). What else do I need to do?

Things that you probably need to know:

  • I did not download any fixlist.txt files because I wasn’t sure those would work for me since they’re dated 2013.
  • I did not download Windows Vista RC because the dropbox website said the file does not exist.
  • I did not download Rufus.
  • I do not have the Windows Vista Recovery cd.

I will notify Essex.

Never, run fixlist’s from other threads, it could damage your computer.

Sit tight!

You will need to re-install Avast after this, but I would recommend that you remove Norton first

Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same location as FRST
Run FRST and press Fix
On completion try a normal boot

Sorry for the late reply. Everything worked, and now my computer is booting up normally. Thanks for your help.
