Im having no luck with Windows XP lately due to a problem with windows installer so i decided to give this one a try.
My Laptop Specs are: CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2/ CPU clockrate: 1,6GHz/ Display: 17"/ Resolution:1440x900/ HDD: 120 GB/ Spindle speed: 5400 rpm/ Memory: 1024 MB/ GPU: NVIDIA GeForce Go 6100/ Dedicated GPU RAM: No/ 256vram shared
My Acer laptop also have all drivers to download for it.
Any tips to configure Vista for best performance, please let me know.
Also for giving compatiblity with some older xp programs too.
For Vista I would say you are a little light on RAM as 1024MB isn’t that much for even for Vista Home Basic, especially when you are having to share 256MB with your video chip.
If it is another version of Vista then you will need to dispense with the bells and whistles, like Aero, etc.
Note: I don’t use Vista, this is information I have gleaned from forums, etc.
I have Windows 7 and I find it performs better than Vista and I have 4GB RAM that I know it can only use 3GB but I think that the video RAM goes above this.
It’s just my opinion but I’d like people not to use url-shortener since I don’t know where it will redirect me and after checking bit.ly site…yes, I guess you can observe the access. Thank you.
