Windows XP new avast - problem

Hello,
I use Avast internet security.
Just download the new update for one.
After rebooting, all of keyboard commands or mouse clicks arent working. I click on my desktop icons - nothing happen, they’re not active… The same thing with keyboard commands.
Reboot again, turn Avast off and all is good.
Could you help me to solve this problem?! Im really need in my pc for work.
P.S. My system is Windows XP, SP2.

You can try uninstalling the BhS through add remove program’s for the time being and see if that get’s you working untill some more of the issue’s get ironed out.

Is this a 32bit system…??

Well with my XP Pro SP3 (you really need to update as SP2 no longer gets any security updates from July last year) and my keyboard shortcuts work just fine.

I rather doubt this has anything to do with the behaviour shield.

What commands and or mouse click are you talking about ?
What is your keyboard, mouse and is it a USB or PS2 keyboard ?
Mine is a Benq PS2 keyboard and Trust USB (dongle) Wireless Optical Laser mouse.

Dave, if this should be a 64bit XP, there would be only SP2 for it, that’s why I asked.

I’m taking bets on it not being x64, the XP 64bit OS is rarer than hens teeth it is based on the server version of windows ;D

True…!! It’s just in case, we have one of the few who use it here.
