Windows XP Pro - remaining Avast registry entries after uninstall

I had a few teething problems with Avast 2014 after updating from 8.0.1497…then believed I’d purged everything ready for a new and clean installation using both uninstall utilities.

However, when I search the registry, there are 3 remaining instances of “avast network shield support” in:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SYSTEM
CONTROLSET001
CONTROLSET002 and
CURRENTCONTROLSET
ENUM
ROOT
LEGACY_ASWTDI 0000 device desc…

Would these interfere with a fresh installation of 2014?

Use Rejzor’s tool

Download Rejzor’s Uninstall Utility to your Desktop.
Download the correct version of Avast
Avast Free
Avast Pro
Avast Internet Security
Avast Premier
Disconnect from the net
Uninstall Avast via control panel

[]Unzip Rejzor’s tool to the desktop
[
]Run the tool and accept the usage
[]Once complete reboot your system
[
]Reinstall Avast

Thank you - just one small thing - in his “designed for” comments, he doesn’t mention Windows XP - is it still ok to use it?

I believe it does, but I will ask him and check that out

Thanks again…I will hang fire before I do it then…

OK I have just PM’d him
