Please can someone help me with this problem. Ever since i got Windows XP SP2, when using the IAVS update it freezes. Like it downloads the new vps file, but when i wait for the summary to show it freezes my computer. It happens on occasions, and id appreciate any help.
Update troubles are just related to firewall, maybe you have any and it’s not well configurated to allow avast connect…
Which is your operational system? Do you use a DSL or dial-up?
Which are your avast connection configurations?
BOOTA fail error is just that avast! could not read/scan the boot sector of the floppy disk A: 8)
Probably, you did not have a floppy in the drive when you ask for a full scanning 8)
Can you move the log slider to the deepest one (debbug)? This will ‘log’ all items above debbug and we can know if anything else is wrong in your system.
What about your firewall?
Did you set dial-up into avast connections settings (Advanced)?
I dont think its my firewall, as it downloads fine. I set the log to show debug, but nothing is showing up. What exactly happens is that, it downloads the latest vps file, then a dialog box comes up saying installation progress, then that goes off after its installed. Then i wait for the summary dialog box to show but it crashes on that exact point.
