Windows32\DRIVERS\usb etc......

i recently bought a computer and installed avast free edition…
then suddenly… i receive this warning that windows32\DRIVERS\usb something might be infected with a suspicious malware…

i already tried running the full system scan and boot scan and they didint detect any virus or malware…

hope ou can help me with this problem :-\

This looks like the anti-rootkit scan (8 minutes after boot), and the alert looks like the attached example image, is that what you saw ?

Is so the other avast scans won’t find anything as it isn’t a conventional scan, but more likely that it is a hidden process/driver which is considered suspicious. We will need the full path and file name of the alert though.

Check the anti-rootkit scan log - For winXP C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Alwil Software\Avast5\log\aswAr.log or the arpot.log. For Vista/win7 C:\ProgramData\Alwil Software\Avast5\log\aswAr.log or the arpot.log. This should give you which file name and full path, post that in your next post.
