Windows 8 and a Dell Inspiron Mini (10.1)
(And they said it couldn’t be done.)

There is a new security solution released specifically for Windows 8. It looks like a good one. It has detected 15 infections!

;D

I hope you didn’t install it since it’s a Rogue AV:

Stick with avast! and you can’t go wrong.

No I didn’t install it. I’m just screwing around. The link you posted is where I found it. As you can see, the image at the link you posted also detected 15 infections. The bad guys never sleep.

They could do with brushing up on their spelling grammar and proof reading whilst they aren’t sleeping.

Are you running Windows 8 and are using avast! Internet Suite ???
Are you having a problem getting the Modern “Metro” Apps to run ???

One of the users has found a fix and you’ll find it at:

Restoring the “delete file” confirmation in Windows 8

( This is disabled by default in Windows 8 )
(I happen to like it disabled but not every one does.)

Can you still completely delete the file by holding down shift and clicking delete? I personally always do that and never let anything hit the Recycle Bin. If I say delete, that is exactly what I mean, not save it somewhere else.

The delete function hasn’t changed.

(Almost) Complete guide to using Windows 8

I’m terrified of Windows 8
http://www.smh.com.au/digital-life/computers/im-terrified-of-windows-8-20121019-27uy5.html

I’m not 100% sure where to post this so I’ll stick it here, and I have to agree with this article.

I’ve used it for over a year and I’m very happy with it.
Like anything new, you need to get used to it. Once you do that, it’s a pleasure to use.

Thanks for the W8 ebook link Bob

You’re welcome. Just remember that you learn more through using the program than you’ll ever learn from a book.

Official release day is Oct 26.

National holiday here. Not related to the release, though. ;D
