WININET.DLL infected

C:\Windows\System32\Wininet.dll

Malware name: Win32:Nsag-B [Dll]

Malware type: Virus/Worm

VPS Version: 0534-0, 22-08-2005.

  • When i press delete/move to chest/repair, all i get is an error message saying that Avast! cant process the file… :frowning:

Oooh, and right now, i have a problem with C:\Windows\popuper.exe[FSG] - Win32:Puper-W. - Avast finds the virus (and file) but when i press any action, it tells me that the file does not exist. When i press “No Action”, Avast just pops up again, telling me about the same virus… :frowning:

Please… Help…!

If you have a NT based system, run a boottime scan.

Just scanned with Jotti. Nothing found. Not even the Avast! engine… Hmm…

It keeps popping up on my computer though. I guess its a false positive…

To Alwil team: doesn’t this is related to different providers detection? I mean, Standard Shield picks up the virus and then another provider (or on-demmand scanning)… It’s annoying that the button NO ACTION does not work.
This happens with me too

It seems, that you have a smitfraud.c infection, you should post a Hijackthis log

Maybe someone will able to help you.

Hi raman,

If that is right, this is the link for easy smitfraud removal:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/How_to_remove_the_Smitfraud_Quicknavigate_VirtualMaid-t17258.html
Several of the people here, I know from Dutch Anti Spyware Forum: ASO forum, and these people are qualified and trained helpers, e.g. Miekiemoes (a nice Belgian lady). Only for the last advice I would not run the panda scan, but rather the Bitdefender, because this online scanner does not interfere with Avast as Panda is known to do.

greets,

polonus

Raman, glad you’re back round here 8)
How is Germany?

You can find a real good Smitfraudremover here: http://noahdfear.geekstogo.com/click%20counter/click.php?id=1
only, if someone identifies that infection, of course

Hi Tech
