wireless card

i got a ibm thinkpad 760el windows 98 se

its workin fine but i installed a wirless card and theres no lights up on the card after install,i went into device manager and it says this device is disabled because the bios for this device did not give it a irq?when i restart and go int easy setup i dont see anything about irq?any ideas on how i can enable this,thanks bri

Take a look and see if your card works with Win98.

Each hardware component in a computer must have a Interrupt Request (IRQ) assigned to it. There should be a setting in the BIOS to set IRQ numbers by hand you can assign the card a unused one (older hardware back in DOS days you had to set them manually by jumpers on the device itself remember that bob? ;))

If I remember Windows has a way to change the IRQ in the device manager too not sure how it works
