With Avast internet not working

Hello, I install Avast and when is on, I can not open with browser any page. Skype, and Client for on line back up Humyo.cz is working and have connection. With Firefox, or Opera can not open pages. I can open page with https but with http no.

When I turn off Avast, all page can open.

Please could you write me what is for problem. Sure is something in set up.

Which is your operating system?
Do or did you use any other antivirus?
If yes, which one and how did you remove it?

What is your firewall?
Do you use any other security software?

Hello,

I have:

  • Xp
  • Before I used and I removed normal and with one small program what I download from AVG.
    I think is name remove AVG
  • Firewall is Kerio
  • And I am use Spyware Terminator together

Now is working, jusr I turned off Resident fo WEB, When is on, I can not go to http pages.

Is Avast allowed to connect through the firewall?
Especially the following three files of avast:
avast.setup
ashwebsv.exe
ashmaisrv.exe

In my firewall avast is allowed.

I have to turn off web resident to brows http page. If I make pause, can not brows.

Just in case when I turn of can open http pages.

Were they already allowed in your firewall or did you add them ?

If they were in there and allowed already, delete the entry for ashWebSv.exe (enable the Web Shield) and reconnect, your firewall should ask permission.

Is this the AVG removal tool you used ?
AVG8 Remover, download tool from here, http://www.grisoft.com/ww.download-tools there is a 32bit and 64 bit windows version, ensure you use the correct one.

Hello, thank you so much for help. Yes it was something between Avast and Firewall. I changed Number of http port what I attach screen.

I changed from 80 to 225 and is working fine now. Now with web resident is working nice.

Changing the redirect port to 225 is effectively the same as disabling the web shield as nothing will be scanned.

Can you confirm that the web shield is actually scanning web traffic (check the Web Shield, Last scanned: and Scanned count: fields, these would be constantly updated if traffic is being scanned ?

Unless you have to use a proxy port (225) to connect to the internet ?
If you do, then you could have added the 225 to the redirected ports, e.g. 80,225 and uncheck the Ignore local communication option.

Hello David, yes you have the true.

Number 225 I choice like any number. It wasnt any scan of web resident.
When I turned off Kerio, everything was working fine.

Because:

I reinstall Kerio, clean all installation files and install again in learn mode. After new installation ask me about web web resident. I confirm and now working nice. Resident also start to scan and check.

Thank you so much, Avast I didnt use long time because before take so much memory.

Now everything is perfect.

No problem, glad I could help.

That is why I suggested deleting the entry to force your firewall to go through the asking permission again, but switching it into learning mode after deleting the entry may have avoided reinstalling Kerio.
