Eats traffic, money to nowhere. I ask to remove this nonsense.
While I think it’s a great option, I’d like some control over it. On some computers I would like to turn it off, entirely. Other than choosing weather to automatically download updates, system wide updates and automatic updates, I see no controls. Please advise.
If you don’t want it - Remove it in the usual way, Programs and features > select Avast > then Uninstall/Change, when the new window opens, click Change, click the Next button and deselect the Software Updater function.
Had you cone a custom install/update you could have deselected it at that point.
Thanks, David. I simply did an update/upgrade from my current Ver 7 install and didn’t notice a Custom Option. I am installing Ver 9 on another PC now and should see the Custom Option. Appreciate it.
I too hate the software updater. It just won’t stop nagging me. I also upgraded to version 8 from my version 7. I did not have a choice to do a custom install/upgrade. I am going to add/remove programs right now to get rid of it. Thank you.
Bob
You’re both welcome.
