WM Player?

Hi there,

I have Windows Media player, Zoom HOME MAX & VLC on my machine running XP MCE SP3.

Audio/Video files run fine on both Zoom & VLC.

The default icon on audio & video files is of WMP & if clicked on, WMP starts to run them but hangs instantly with the hour glass icon running till I have to shut it using task manger.

Is there a possibility of a clash btw them?

Is it possible to uninstall & reinstall windows media player…if yes from which site?

Is it possible to change the default MP…how?

Open VLC - Select:
Tools - Preferences - File Association and click on Select association
Select all or simply check the file types you want VLC to handle.
Can’t answer for the other players.

Thanks bob3160, fixed WMP10, issue too by installing Windows Media Format SDK11. Now it doesn’t stall any more.
