Well… umm lol. I’m on vacation and my family called me and they said that something strange happened. They said they were going to the british Columbia Lottery Corperation site, and while it was doing that a strange pop up came up with a street light and it suddenly dissapeared. I think the person described it as it poped up like avast!'s pop up saying it updated. I really don’t know. Is this an exploit? or what is it?
No anti virus warning poped up and this has never happened before.
Hi…
Any avast popup notice I’ve ever seen never included a street light. ???
Did it have any writing in it or any other features?
By the way, I was impressed with Victoria when I was there in 2005.
Best Regards…
Well, all I know it was just an image of a street light that quickly poped up. Nothing else. But the warning was not involved with avast! I got them to scan the computer and a virus was found called win32/worm-gen or something like that. It was in C:/Program Files/Common Files/ and I believe it was named symantec… lol I couldn’t really understand the file name (since it was really long and I couldn’t go back on the computer till the second day).
I got them to put it in the Virus chest. It sounds like an exploit.
If you check the viruses and worms topic list (forum search for symantec common files) this has cropped up a number of times and I believe it is an FP.
Though this I would say is totally unrelated to your street light pop-up.
Oh >.< Well… I didn’t know I thought it was involved with the street light pop up. I thought it was like a virus drive-by download. my family doesn’t like Firefox :o I’m the only one who uses it
Just wanted to add for the record I watched your youtube video and commented one day after stumbling across it

I really do not know if this is it or not, but, by chance did they at sometime download StopSign anti-virus?
