Hi and welcome martay,
Could you narrow the problem down a bit by de-activating providers within on-access protection one at a time to see where the conflict is.
A list of your o/system and other security utilities would also make it easier to find where the conflict lies.do you have a software firewall?
good luck

Ok i find out which one. It is the web sheild because when all of others r switch on and the web sheild is switched off it will allow me to access the internet but how do i turn the web sheild on and still have access to the internet

What is your Operating System?
What is your Firewall?

Check out this from the avast web site FAQs - http://www.avast.com/eng/webshield_issues.html are any of the issues mentioned relevant?

My OS is a Windows XP Home Edition and My firewall is Sygate personal firewall

Did you check out the FAQ link I gave you?

This would seem to be appropriate:

Q: I installed avast and I can not browse the Web anymore.

A:
Check your firewall configuration. For the correct operation the Web Shield process (ashWebSv.exe or aswWebSv.exe) needs a permission to access the Internet (TCP port 80) and a permission to act as a server and accept incoming connections from localhost (the local machine) on TCP port 12080.

What next…? ???

After 19 days I had though you had resolved the issue and not a what next …? boy you have a very slow connection ;D

Does Sygate allow access to Web Shield (ashWebSv.exe)?
What have you tried, before saying what next?

Since it has been so long since the start of the thread, what version of avast are you using, the current version is 4.6.652?

Since this would appear to be a firewall blocking issue have you been received any automatic VPS updates?
