Schedule a boot scan.
In “boot scan parameters” browse for the folder, and set it to scan that one.
Reboot. The scan will commence. Might take a few minutes…I don’t know. I haven’t ever set this version of Avast to just boot-scan one folder, it might be real quick.
Set it to quarantine anything found.

Bottom line seems to be this is pre-installed, potentially unwanted, has spyware-like characteristics, but not a real serious threat.
Post back.
well i went to uninstall programs and i couldent find the wildtangent program in the list. i googled it and it said i should run HiJackthis. also for avast i dont understand running just a scan on a folder could move it to the chest because last time i tryed it said access is denied for a full system scan.
It probably wouldn’t be in “add/remove programs” under the name “wild tangent”, more likely under “Dell Games” or something similar.
The reason it probably could not be removed following the scan you originally performed was that it was in use by the operating system. Running a boot scan is one way to remove it at start up, before it can be locked by other normal Windows processes, there are other ways also. Hijack this would be one app that could stop it, you could stop it starting via msconfig, or use any number of unlocking tools.
I suggest you try this way, first.
