Word can't save files after Avast has been installed

Dear colleagues,

I have just bought and installed Avast Internet Security on my notebook.
All of a sudden I could not save any file I am working in Words.
Can anyone help me what to do?

avast doesn’t block, but scans and alerts to infection, which presumably it didn’t

Have (or did) you another Anti-Virus installed in this system, if so what was it and how did you get rid of it ?
Remnants of or another AV still installed can have this effect as one AV locks the file when the other is trying to scan it.

yes i got same problem.

u have to delete othere anti virus.

install only 1 AV in pc.

i done same thing as u done.i installed avast without deleting other AV.

from control panel i cannot delete AV because 2 AV installed and it messed up in my pc.

i formatted c drive and it working fine now.

if u cannot able to remove other AV,u can uninstall other AV from here by downloading removing tool for AV u have.

Yes, before I installed Avast Internet Security, I have been using Avast Free 8.5 for a long time.
When I have installed Avast Internet Security, I did not uninstall Avast Free 8.5; that was when I had problems with my Word 2007.

I have just removed Avast Free 8.5, and now my Word 2007 works fine.

You’re welcome, though I think you mean you had avast 4.8 Home (free) as there is no avast version 8.5, the highest being avast 5.0.

if so you will fiend the removal tool here as Nr #2 http://uninstallers.blogspot.com/ remember there is 32bit and 64bit

Quite possibly, I took more notice of the name really "I have been using Avast Free 8.5 for a long time. " and didn’t reed too much into 8.5 ;D
