Working a boot CD on a TrueCrypt encrypted OS, is this possible?

Hi malware fighters,

Someone met this problem and found a solution?
Did avast foresee a likewise scenario?

It seems “Hiren’s BootCD 9.9” (http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd) also has TrueCrypt 6.2 and various av scanners aboard. Not tested, no idea if this is feasible.

N.B. only since version 6.1 one may, according to http://www.truecrypt.org/docs/version-history, mount a Windows system partition from within the Linux and Mac OS X version of TrueCrypt (whether this means you should at least have version 6.1 on your PC, is not clear, could be).

In case of an emergency one could use the TrueCrypt rescue disk (you should have kept it? where did I last saw it… :wink: decrypt your system (temporarily) to scan the OS in the old-fashioned way (See: http://www.truecrypt.org/docs/rescue-disk).
If not your malware is protected by the exellent TrueCrypt protection,

Well, I use TrueCrypt for a partition encryption, but not the system one. I can scan it only within Windows and not by the outside, as it is encrypted. I hope I do not need Hiren’s BootCD to save my system :wink:
