Working App now not opening unless Avast is disabled

I have a client whose real estate program, Title Express, was working fine until roughly July 2019 using Exceptions covering both the program executable as well as SQL. There is no error, the program simply does not load and freezes. I have to end task to continue. Using the disable Avast feature allows both loading and running, where as before everything ran ok using the exceptions. Nothing has changed with the program. Any ideas?
