Working with literal #'s in SMS Call filter

Hello,

Avast is installed on Samsung Galaxy S3. Android 4.0.4.

I added a single group “Spam” only. It contains several members. Some of them numeric but other have literal identificators (they were added from SMS log).
I noticed that a log of blocked messages for the group contains sms’s from services, which are not included in the group (they all have literal ID’s).

So, my questions are:

  1. what can lead to such an affect?
  2. can I specify somehow exception for literal ID’s that should be treated as “non-spam” (if the members would be numerical I just add them to my known contacts).

Thank you in advance
Alex.

Hi,

could I get screenshots of both group setup and log? Thanks.

Filip

Hi Filip,

done. As you can see QIWIWallet is in the log somehow.

regards
Alex.

Hi, are you sure that that ones, which has been filtered and have different literals in name do not using the similar numbers you have in the group?

Hi Jan,

I’m not sure what exact numbers are “hidden” behind the literals names (I have no possibility to check it. Let me know if I can do it somehow) but I assume that mobile carrier provider should differ them.

Best regards
Alexander.

Hi,

do you have the “QIWIWallet” stored in your contacts?

Filip

Hi,

as I already said this litteral numbers are not my contacts but just “named” ones provided by my carrier.

Best regards
Alexander.

So the sender is not the number, but the literal string (f.e. name or lable) provided by your own site?

Hi

Sender’s name is not under my control at all but assigned by the mobile carrier provider instead.

Alexander.

Hi support guys,

is there any news on my issue?

Best regards
Alexander.

Hi,

can you (somehow) initiate sending a message from QIWIWaller by yourself? If so, please, try to temporarily remove numbers from your group to see which one causes the issue.

Filip

Hi,

I did not find easy way to turn off a number in a group (e.g. enable/disable an item. btw, it would make sense to have the feature :)) exept permanent deleting. But if I remove items I have no possibility to restore them later because amost of them have litteral ID’s and I cannot specify litteral ID as number in avast.

I tried to turn off the SMS flag in “Spam” group’s property (as I already wrote there is only one group in my SMS blocker). After it SMS’s from QIWIWallet get delivered.

Does it help?

Best regards
Alexander.

in addition…

I tried to turn off the group and then I got the Avast dialog “Incoming SMS from unknown number ‘QIWIWallet’. Would you like to Block/Allow it later?”. When I chose “Block” and specify “Spam” as a group. QIWIWallet was added to the group (I don’t know how you manage numbers inside a group and if duplicates are allowed there).

Best regards
Alexander.

Hi,

do you think you could wait for a bit? We will include some debug logs in the next version that should tell us why was the number blocked etc. This will hopefully solve the mystery

Filip

Hi,

I see your position. Lets wait for next version ;).

Thank you for answers.

Best regards
Alexander.
