wrong definitions update

Sometimes when I do a manual update I get a message saying “definitions updated”, but the definitions version isn’t changing. The activity log claims that the definitions have been updated, but the version it’s been updated to is the same as the version I already had. Further attempts will repeatedly tell me that the update was successful, but the version does not change. I need to close the app and try again for the update to actually work.

any ideas on what could be causing this?

Did you have another antivirus on the phone prior to this? Is the phone working fine otherwise? Have you tried doing a soft reset of the phone to see if this resolves the problem?
