Xenocode malware found during scan

Hi,

During a scan today, Avast returned the following file as infected:

C:\Users\Computer\AppData\Local\Xenocode\Sandbox\compiledBot\1.0.0.0\2011.03.05T07.59\Virtual\MODIFIED@DESKTOP@\decaptcher.dll

It says it’s Win32:Malware-gen. The last change to that file was 2011 according to the Avast Virus Chest.

Avast has moved that decaptcher.dll to quarantine.

Is this correct? Should it stay there? Is it a malware file?

I’m trying to find a more detailed log for the scan, but so far I can’t find anything. ‘Log’ and ‘report’ are empty in Avast’s Program Files and ProgramData folders.

Please advise. Thanks.

Is it a malware file?
only way to find out is to upload and test at one of these places www.virustotal.com / www.metascan-online.com
Should it stay there?
let it stay for some weeks, if no ill effects you may delete

Hi, Pondus. Okay, thanks for that. Seems like it might be okay according to those sites.
