Avast AV (free edition) flagged up and blocked the url of Xionix.com as malware. The infection was named as url:mal. I have Xionix Driver Hound installed and have hitherto had no problems with it (apart from not always being accurate with recommended drivers). A boot scan with Avast AV was clean. Can anyone throw any more light on this? I do see that there have been a few complaints about their Regdefence product.

Thanks for your help guys. Sorry if this is an obvious question, but should I now be uninstalling Xionix Driverhound?
If you have it installed and avast hasn’t alerted on it then it would seem unnecessary, but that choice would be yours.
However I wouldn’t have thought that something like driverhound (which presumable hunts out new drivers), would be required on a regular basis, so do you need it. If you do need a driver there are other most likely other tools.
