I am trying to run a couple EXE files to get the program installed but I keep getting the following error:

XP gives me the following message: “Windows cannot access the specific device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item”.

I have run Microsoft antispyware and ad-ware se… they found some junk so I have quarantined them but did not solve anything. Any help or suggestions would be great.

Welcome to the Forum Littlejohn,
Without knowing any other details, this is probably a program which requires Administrative rights which
you don’t seem to have.
Either contact your system admin to install the program or, sign in as the administrator.
