XP Home SP 2 Update Problem.

The virus database updated to 701-4 this morning. The Windows Security Center immediately put up a red shield saying that 701-1 has been turned off.

I’ve checked the Avast Home (free) updates several times, and the program believes 701-4 is properly installed.

Please advise. Thanks.

False alarm. Sorry.

Logging off did not affect the problem, but a full restart allowed the update to register.

I’d remove the original post if I could.
