Thanks for your assistance. I’ve not been ignoring your request, just been rather busy for a few days.
Just done a Ghost 14 backup of the newly invigorated system and about to do a Paragon one as well to give me two shots if it goes pear shaped again.
After that I’ll re-install Avast and see if it behaves itself.
Following that, assuming all is well I can then add Win 7 to the spare partition, though I think that will cause a problem for Norton Ghost 14 as I don’t think it likes dual booting.
Anyone any experience of any versions Ghost that will he happy with my proposed setup.
i.e. Dual Boot XP/Win7 on a RAID-1 drive?
My other thoughts were to get the boot partition off the RAID array by adding an ual partitioned SSD, migrating XP onto the first partition and then adding Win7 to the second half.
Paragon do an SSD migration program, so I’ve just started a post over on their forum to see if it works OK with a software RAID-1
This would seem to be an idea final solution with data on a RAID array, but Operating System(s) on SSD giving both speed increase and getting them off the RAID disk.
Wouldn’t helpme though if the migrated XP couldn’t see the data remaining on the RAID disk.
Any Thoughts?
