Hi from the Reatogo desktop select command prompt
Type in the following command :
chkdsk c: /r
Once it has completed try a normal boot
Many thanks, That worked.
Now decided to replace this PC with new on Win 8.1, but still needed to get it back online to transfer all data etc.

Glad to assist, the registry was not saved properly to the disc when you shut down
