I did two more captures during a search for ComboFix.*

Has the desktop returned to normal now ?

If so could you run a fresh OTL quick scan please

The screen creates ghosts when I do a search. I can run the program.

I ran the OTL quick scan and I left the setting to default.

I’ll be standing by so you can get this done today if possible.

OK re-run combofix now (allow it to update if it requests) This should reset the screen back to normal and generate a log this this time

Okay, I will turn off virus checkers and firewall and I’ve turned off the timer on the external USB. I will shut down FireFox while running.

Ran ComboFix. Searched for Combofix.txt but not found. I captured the the search screen displaying ghost images and multiple Combofix.exe files. I also saved the MS error Report. When my system rebooted it hung up. I had to turn off the drive and press re-boot button to restart. Unless the external USB F drive is off the system will not re-boot. However, it did not always do that I think after one of the updates.

Could you upload the folder at C:\qoobox to a file sharing site or dropbox for me to grab please

Still the problem with that update ?

I put the files in dropbox.com. I was unable to drop the folder. However I uploaded the 28 files in the folders. You can access it with my info.

Are you still having problems with the update ?

Modify your post now to delete that data please

Combofix deleted nothing of importance but it appears to have reset the necessary areas that I was hoping for

The Update did not work.

I thought I entered that post an hour ago.

Were you able to look at the files in DropBox?

Yes and nothing was deleted, there were some minor adjustments to the registry as I anticipated. As it stands I am rapidly running out of ideas for the cause of this, and the lack of an error code just does not help. I will continue searching though

Are you still experiencing the mouse problem ?

I think that last time I re-booted when I lost my Ethernet Connection I had y-axis mouse control on the boot.

Could a virus be responsible for “lack of an error code”?

No, I do not see any indication of a virus at all on the system. If there was an infection you would not be able to visit windows updates

When I uninstalled Java 7 Update 7 a file “MSI2E.tmp” kept trying to access programs and I blocked it with Comodore Firewall.

The temp files are where programmes are installed/uninstalled using temporary data so it is quite normal. Comodo is being over sensitive.
