Yahoo Mail Tab From Messenger Screen

On my wife’s laptop Compaq 610 running windows xp pro when she tries to access her yahoo mail for the yahoo messenger screen it says:::::

This File does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the folder Options control panel.

I dunno what this means. The messenger works good and her mail works good you just cant click on anything from messenger to get to the mail or you get the error above. Dont believe its a security issue I’ve scanned with SAS, MBAM, AIS with no issues. Its been like this for a few months just havent looked into it yet. Any info is greatly appreciated. I think it may be a registry issue but dunno how to correct it. Thanks!

You mentioned Yahoo mail (your “account”), but the question is which program (“email client”) you use to check your emails.

Do you check your Yahoo email account using your web browser? Or maybe you use Outlook (from MS Office) / Outlook Express / Windows Mail / Thunderbird / Pegasus / … any other?

She uses yahoo mail or hotmail only. Yahoo pops up in task bar in bottom right when she has new mail but just like in messenger if you click on it to check it the error message pops up. To get to it you have to go to yahoo.com and log into her mail account. Before you could just click on envelope and it take you to her inbox.

As it seems that you’re using an online account you have to do just what the message says.
Or save the attachment to your machine and open it there, if you have the appropriate program installed to view it.

All it does is take you to yahoo mail and I dunno how to fix it in control panel.

Which program does she use…??
Is this a special program or does she use her browser…?

Its yahoo messenger that’s it. When you click on mail tab it suppost to open your browser and take her to her inbox on yahoo mail but it doesn’t anymore. You get this error message. You can open her browser and go to yahoo.com and check her mail that way but the tab dont work like its suppost to any more.

I suggest to ask at Yahoo then.
