Yahoo Messenger and avast found THREAT/ screen shot.

Any thoughts?

I did not have any browsers open and I have the latest version of yahoo messenger installed. It popped up when I sat down at my pc a few minutes ago and touched my mouse.

seems it blocked a java exploit
run a quick scan with avast…then Malwarebytes…make sure they are updated first

My java client is the latest version as is adobe flash and the other typical culprits that need constant updating because of exploits.

I am running a quick scan now with AIS and will follow up with malwarebytes here in a few.

AIS quick scan just finished. NO THREATS.

Running a malwarebytes scan now.

Malwarebytes just finished. NO THREATS.

so avast saved the day  and since your java / flash / browser was updated the exploit would probably not have worked even if avast did not detect…unless it was very new and not patched

So im sitting here at my pc and opened up a instant message window with somebody on my yahoo messenger friends list and I type the message and hit send and BOOM I get the exact same warning again from avast.

follow the usuall guide here and attach the logs so essexboy can have a look inside…
