Hi,
I got the same problem as many others before. I updated my Windows 7 64 and now my system gets stuck while loading aswrvrt.sys, continuing after 30 seconds, but just showing a black screen and the white mouse cursor. Booting in Safe Mode or any other mode, reset to some point before won’t help - so I hope you can help me. Since I can’t get past this, I can’t use the Uninstaller (or can I)?
I still can boot in Windows Vista and Windows XP (both still installed) and can access my system with both.

Please try and go to Safe Mode with Networking and refer to this link https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0 . Attach the following logs to your next post if possible:
MBAM
Farbar Recovery Scan
asmMBR.exe
You can download the Avast Uninstaller Tool to your desktop if you want.

Sorry haven’t seen that option - after 12+ hours of googling and being angry I just overlooked that.

Sorry to hear that. Glad to help.
Help here is free, and much less aggravation for you than some non-free options.
Just to clarify this was after a windows update is that correct ?
Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same location as FRST
Run FRST as before and press Fix
On completion try a normal boot

Thanks fpr the file and help!
Yes, it was after the “recent” update (was abroad last week). I tried that, but it didn’t change a lot. It booted faster, but still froze.
The recent files and the fixlog:
This one will disable Avast
Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same location as FRST
Run FRST as before and press Fix
On completion try a normal boot
