Warning This fix is only relevant for this system and no other, using on another computer may cause problems

Be advised that when the fix commences it will shut down all running processes and you may lose the desktop and icons, they will return on reboot

Run OTL

[*]Then click the Run Fix button at the top
[*]Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done
[*]Open OTL again and click the Quick Scan button. Post the log it produces in your next reply.

After running OTL, I still get the yieldmanager popup when using IE and viewing my.yahoo.com. (See attached screen shot and IE10 information). I do not get the popup when looking at my.yahoo.com from Firefox. I have attached the OTL scan log and the log from the custom fix.
Regarding BodyScan program - it is used with an armband that monitors my steps, heart rate, calories expended, etc. I do use it everyday. I also have it installed on my laptop and do not have this problem. I would be interested if you are aware of problems with it.
Thanks, RDW

Could you confirm this is only on the yahoo site, as they are hand in glove with adyield manager

No I was just curious as to whether you wanted it or not is all

Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.

[]Right-mouse click JRT.exe and select “Run as Administrator” the tool will open and start scanning your system
[
]please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system’s specifications
[]On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
[
]post the contents of JRT.txt into your next message.

I have run JRT three times (using admin privileges) and it has timed out each time without leaving a log file. On the third try, I did capture a screen shot of the point that it seems to hang up, which I have attached. Hope this helps. RDW

Need to check that out

Re reading the js it is trying to get your uder ID is this when you are signed in or before ?

I can confirm that the popup occurs even before attempting to log in. It is also persistent after logging in (meaning that it pops up every time I select a new page) many times I must close it (select X) several times before it goes away (possibly there are several popups on top each other). It occurs in IE 10 with both www.yahoo.com and www. myyahoo.com url’s. I have not had it happen in Firefox with either url. I have not tried to select “Open” or “Save” responses.

OK next trick, disable java script in IE

Follow the instructions here http://www.alanwood.net/demos/enabling-javascript.html

Disabling the script has eliminated the problem (at least so far). I also tried disabling all (4) yieldmanager add-on’s in the “Tracking Protection / Personal List / Settings” area of IE tools. This approach also eliminated the problem, however the computer slowed noticeably. Thank you for your very capable assistance with my problem. Would you recommend routinely running some of the tools we used during this process? RDW

Not really as all the tools are updated regularly

What I would suggest now is that you run a disc defragment on completion of this cleanup

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

A good workman always cleans up after himself so…The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

Run OTL
[*]Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

:Commands [resethosts] [emptytemp] [Reboot]

[*]Then click the Run Fix button at the top
[*]Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done

Run AdwCleaner and select Uninstall

Run OTL and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself.

Clear Restore Points

Go Start > All Programmes > Accessories > System tools
Right click Disc Cleanup and select run as administrator
When it pops up at the first prompt select OK after it has done some calculations the tabs will appear
Select More Options tab
Press Sytem Restore and Shadow Copies Cleanup button

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programmes:

Malwarebytes.

Update and run weekly to keep your system clean

Download and install FileHippo update checker and run it monthly it will show you which programmes on your system need updating and give a download link

If you use on-line banking then as an added layer of protection install Trusteer Rapport

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated. To keep your operating system up to date visit
[*]Microsoft Windows Update
