For some reason, Avast has decided my Earthlink Webmail site is a phishing site, and won’t let me into my email. I’ve deleted Avast and the Avast browser, rebooted a couple times, and when I attempt to access my Earthlink webmail, I STILL get a warning from Avast, which has supposedly been deleted, and I still can’t load the site. I’ve wasted a good hour that I didn’t have to waste on this nonsense, then I had to come here to post. How can I get this hideous program to let my email site through??
And what’s worse, I won’t be able to see the notification in email that I’ve had a reply!
It is hard to investigate the unknown web link post the url without the https://, etc. just the domain path so it isn’t active.
Or attach a screenshot of the avast alert window with the more details option expanded.
Or - use the ‘Reporting a Possible False Positive File or Website’ - https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php.
You should get a response in a day or two.
If the domain is the same as your forum email domain, then I have been able to connect to the domain (see attached) but that isn’t the same as connecting for email I guess.
Edit added second attachment.
Is the Avast Online Security and Privacy browser extension still installed/enabled in whichever browser you are using?
same problem here wont let me access the webmail email site. even adding it as an exception. https://webmail1.earthlink.net
See reply #1, attached images, I visited that site without any alert.
Please attach an image of the Avast alert window with the more details option expanded. It is hard to investigate what we can’t see or get an alert on.
