You should stop your ads.
It’s very disturb me more than other ads network.
I’m in consider to do move to another security software.
You don’t even say what Avast version you are using (to get an idea of what ads that you speak of) ?
I have the same problem. My ver: 18.5.2342 (build 18.5.3931.0)
I was happy with the free version but I am extremely unhappy with what I have now. And there is nothing easy about using Avast.
Even something as simple as doing a copy/paste of the ver info could not be done, which would have assured accuracy. Had to write it down and hope for the best.
Trying to get past the letter identification so that I could post took a multitude of requests for new images. I just could not differentiate the letters.
Accessing help from the troubleshooting menu seemed designed to prevent ever getting help. The problem I posted for help has to do with Avast interfering with Calibre software, but when I saw this op’s comment I understood the frustration and in my state of exasperation am taking advantage of this opportunity to vent about the many problems and the Avast program’s lack of an interface to resolve them. It was only when I clicked on Feedback that the link to support was shown that finally led me to this forum. Well hidden!
You can disable the ads in the paid versions: Avast GUI → Settings → Privacy
