Unable to exit “Your browsing is secured” screen on Samsung Tab.
Back arrow does not work.
Close apps does not work, as the close apps screen is immediatley overwritten on top by persistent Avast app “Your browsing is secured” screen. Avast cannot be closed.
The “Your browsing is secured” screen sits on top of all other apps and cannot be closed.
Only way out is to Restart to regain operation.
This bad behaviour means any visits to AMS app are fatal on this device.
You don’t say what AMS version you are using ?
I have AMS version-24.2.1-xxxxxxxxx and can visit that section and the back arrow is working.
This phone Samsung Galaxy A51 (old, but still supported), Android 13, One UI 5.1
Just did an update via the Avast app, (I don’t know why Google Play did not do that app update for me) to V24.3.0-1004091-eca47db16.
The UI is a bit different. I just went to Webshield page which displays “Your browsing is secured” etc.
That page is now in dark mode, not light mode, so is the same theme as rest of the UI.
The small backarrow top left now works as it should, as do the off screen “Recents” and “Back” switches.
I can only assume the UI of my previous version must have been faulty. I will monitor the behaviour of this version and report back if the fault behaviour returns.
Well so far Google Play hasn’t notified me on an AMS Update, but I would imagine that these could be spread over time.
I use dark mode for most of my apps, including AMS and that page was also dark mode in 24.2.1-xxxxxxxx.
Well it happened again. This time in dark mode.
Clicked on Notification that stated I need to take steps for protection (or similar wording).
That took me to the “Your browsing is secured” screen. The arrow top left did nothing. Had to crash out.
I wonder if the screen is optimised for phones and the arrow is not sensitive on larger tablet screens. But it is a UI problem, so I will avoid Avast Notifications unless critical on that device for now.
You don’t say what Android and UI version you are running, mine still Android 13, One UI version 5.1.
It is pretty hard to do any comparison without these, as it may be an Android version compatibility issue.
My Avast Mobile Security version was updated yesterday (now o 24.3.0-1004091-xxxxxxxx) and no problems with navigation/back arrow etc. I can’t recall having a Google Play notification.
Affected device is a Galaxy Tab A. Android 8.1.
I suspect that the Old Android version may be an issue, I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+, latest Android version 13 and OneUI version 5.1.1 and no issues on this.
For info. Android 8.1 meets AMS Minimum System Requirements. Ref: https://support.avast.com/en-uk/article/Mobile-Security-FAQ#pc
It might meet the minium requirement, but there is something not right with your installation. I haven’t seen that issue in previous Android versions, with whatever the current version of AMS.
Outside of the bloody Samsung hyper battery saver issue stopping the Avast background processes.
Well. I uninstalled AMS, power off/restart, re-installed AMS. Will see what effect that has.
