At first I installed Avast Free (Windows 7), but I wanted to know how effective the Avast Premier. So I installed it on my computer and gave me 30 days trial. But since I updated my Windows 7 to Windows 10, the Avast Premier generates this alert in: home network security. Your network router is accessible from the Internet. >:(
try to reset your router from a button it have. push it till leds start flash. Restart computer also after that
Then try again scan for network threats
This message means, that your device is accessible from the internet. Meaning that anyone can connect to it.
It is caused by some open ports on your device.
Since you recently updated to Win 10, it is most likely port 80 on your computer. Win 10 have sometimes IIS (web server) enabled and running by default.
Guide on how to uninstall IIS (if you are not hosting any websites on your PC, you don’t need it): https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc779925(v=ws.10).aspx
The message is saying, that your router is accessible from outside, but is displayed on your PC. Not on your router in the Network Scan results.
This is a mistake on Avast’s side. It should be saying “your PC” not “your router”.
We will fix the message to be more accurate.
Thanks for the answers. Because of my limited time, it had failed to point out that the problem was the ISP router. I schedule a visit to the technician my ISP, and I said the router was bad. It failed by normal use. My conclusion is. Thanks to Avast, and its “Home Network Security” who told me that my router was unsafe. ;D
