I don’t have a router and in my last Avast Internet Security scan I get the message that my router is vulnerable to network attacks. I don’t even have a network, just my pc, the printer that I’ve used a cord to connect to my computer and my cable internet modem connected to my computer with an ethernet cord. So what is going on? Am I just so technically challenged that I’m not aware that these 2 things attached to my computer constitutes a network? Still I have no router and no wi-fi capabilites other than my printer which I don’t use because I have a cord connecting it to my computer.
Then you have a wired network and a wireless router
and my cable internet modemwhat is the make and model number of that box?
The internet is one huge network, so yes you are part of a network.
What you call modem is likely modem, router and firewall in one device.
To find out, look up the specifications of it.
What is the exact message avast is giving you ? (a screenshot might help)
